But the past year has brought turbulence to the sport. From a heightened awareness of concussions and their debilitating impact to the transfers of several high-profile players, change has taken hold of the lacrosse landscape.

Ravens Insider : Joe Linta, the agent for Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, confirmed Wednesday that he and Ravens vice president of football administration Pat Moriarty, the team's salary cap specialist, will begin discussions about a contract extension for the 27-year-old quarterback at next week's NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis. Linta said he and Moriarty would have a brief chat over coffee, but it wouldn't be a "Hatfield and a McCoy thing." They will start talking about the framework of a new deal but they aren't expected to exchange salary figures.

Ravens Insider : The NFL scouting combine starts Feb. 22. In advance of the annual meat market in Indianapolis, Baltimore Sun reporter Matt Vensel will examine each position and give Ravens fans the 4-1-1. In this post he looks at wide receivers. Some of the more notable draft-eligible wide-outs are (from left) Wisconsin's Nick Toon, Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon and Texas A&M's Jeff Fuller. Toon is a probable mid-round prospect, while Blackmon is the top wide receiver in the draft. Fuller is a big target at 6 feet 4. Ozzie Newsome said recently that the Ravens wanted to address the wide receiver position again this offseason.
