    <description>Aberdeen area exception to the recession
                        &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;

                        Just outside the main gate of Aberdeen Proving Ground, construction workers are finishing up a three-story building's brick exterior, preparing to install windows and divide the vast interior into offices. Nearby, a cleared parcel sits ready for a second building to start soon - even though the developer has yet to sign up a single tenant.

    <description>Iraq-bound Warman arrived at Fort Hood shortly before shootings

                        Lt. Col. Juanita L. Warman arrived at Fort Hood less than 24 hours before a gunman opened fire. In the hours that followed, relatives tried to assure Warman's mother, Eva Waddle, that she was likely safe.

    <description>Heavy northbound Interstate 95 traffic near Edgewood in Harford County was forced to turn around and take detours after at least two vehicles collided on the highway Sunday afternoon, said State Police at the John F. Kennedy Barracks. Shortly before 4 p.m., a sport utility vehicle collided with at least one vehicle near the Edgewood exit and brought traffic to a temporary halt. Police said an undetermined number of people were taken by ambulances to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air with injuries not considered to be life-threatening. Police said that due to the crash and removal of the damaged vehicles, traffic was backed up for "quite a bit" and was finally rerouted to U.S. 40 before re-entering I-95 beyond the accident scene. The accident was being investigated by a State Police crash team.

    <description>Maryland's once-pioneering Smart Growth effort has not succeeded at reining in suburban sprawl, University of Maryland researchers say in a newly published analysis.
