<description>A 12-year-old boy was struck and killed about 7:30 p.m. Friday as he darted across North Point Boulevard near Eastpoint Shopping Center in Essex, Baltimore County police said. The driver of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata that hit the boy then swerved into southbound traffic and crashed into two vehicles. All three drivers suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening.. The boy, identified as Joseph Hudson of the 5000 block of Goodnow Road in Northeast Baltimore, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police said that pedestrian error caused the accident, and charges are not expected to be filed against the Hyundai's driver.
